Standard Insurance
All Rent a Dent vehicles have insurance cover. Many vehicles in New Zealand do not have insurance so it makes good sense at Rent a Dent to have all rental vehicles insured. For this reason we include vehicle insurance in all rates quoted. This is referred to as our standard insurance cover.
Provided the "Rental Terms and Conditions" and use of the vehicle is complied with by the hirer (and the listed drivers) a standard Insurance excess applies to all drivers.
Drivers under the age of 25 years have a higher excess applied. A higher excess will also apply to specialty vehicles, minibus vans, and 4wd vehicles.
Excess
- The Standard Insurance Excess for cars with drivers 25 years and over is $1500.
- A higher excess will also apply to specialty vehicles, minibus vans, and 4wd vehicles.
- Drivers Aged 19 to 25 with full licence are subject to a higher excess, depending on vehicle.
License criteria.
All drivers to have held a full license for a minimum of 3yrs.
C.D.R. (Collision Damage Reduction Insurance)
reduces standard excess to: $300 on cars and $1000 on minibuses
C.D.R. $12 per day for a car rented for more than one day
C.D.R. $20 for a car rented one day only
C.D.R. $20 per day for a minibus rented for more than one day
C.D.R. $35 for a minibus rented one day only
Windscreen Excess
The insurance excess on a windscreen is $350
